ABOUT ME

I'm Carly, an Australian based in London who loves photography and probably has too many passions.

I speak fluent French and a bit of Spanish. I LOVE jazz music and swing dancing, I've completed 2x Yoga Teacher Trainings and used to teach back in Australia. Yes, I can touch my toes.

I've loved photography since I can remember: from being a lucky 8-year-old to take a disposable camera to school camp, to media studies in high-school around the age of 15 when we got to shoot on 35mm and develop the film in the dark room.

I was also really fortunate that my Dad bought a DSLR camera to take photos for his home-building business in my late teens. He quickly decided it was too complicated and asked if I wanted to do it. From that point on, the camera was basically mine to play with.

Aside from taking photos of the houses and random things in my life, I started taking photos at swing dancing events. It was a huge challenge to capture the fast movements in dimly lit venues, but I stuck to it, trying to learn the craft and have come a long way since 2018.

Beyond photography, I'm also a Digital Marketer, having worked on websites, social media, ad campaigns, and creative. As a Senior Manager specialised in Paid Social, I've worked at independent and network agencies on some iconic brands like Gucci, Pandora, PayPal, and Buzzfeed.

I'm creatively minded, but also enjoy the strategy and data side. Paid Social is a particular playground, but I'm also experienced with (and enjoy!) organic social media work, too. I've freelanced alongside full-time work since 2018, and have become a content partner for some swing dance organisations, supporting with photo/video and social media management.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you located?: I'm based in SW London, but am available to travel. I have photographed events in Europe and welcome any opportunity to keep travelling for photography work.
What kind of photography do you do?: My focus is on live music, events, and portraits. However, I have experience in other areas and am pretty open minded and curious to explore different projects, so if you're interested in my services for other photography, get in touch!
What are your rates?: While I have standard rates, I always tailor deliverables to the budget and requirements. What does that mean for you? While my standard rate is for my standard input based on the photography needed, if you need less coverage or your budget is smaller, we can use the standard rate as a starting point to find a mutually agreeable fee and expectations. Get in touch with a brief on what you need and we can go from there!
What are your payment options?: I can take payment with Stripe, or direct bank transfer via invoice. I can accept GBP, EUR, and AUD payments.
How long does it take to receive photos?: Generally I work to a two-week turnaround, but it depends what the project is. This will be agreed before the date of shooting, generally when discussing fees and requirements. A sneak preview (small collection of highlight images) will be sent within 24-48 hours though, and I can try to accommodate other requests for a small fee if requested ahead of time.
